Shopping Russian style

Property developers ADM Group wanted to create a Russian shopping centre brand that would grow from their hometown, Rostov-on-Don to become a national chain. Using the very traditional name Kalinka Malinka (after the famous folk song), they challenged us to create something that was international, contemporary and stylish but stayed true to their Russian roots. Based on the brand idea, 'Shopping Russian style',our creative strategy exploited the historical language of Russian pattern and colour and turned it into a big, bright modern icon of new Russian retail. Working closely with architects RTKL, we created a design language that is incorporated into the architectural fabric of the centres, that gives a strong graphic language for communications and that has been extended into a range of bespoke products.
